In this life we face death, because sin brings death. However, we have the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ, and we can look forward to an eternity where there will be no more death. The thought of Christ's soon return brings us hope. This hope in Jesus causes us to purify ourselves. We cast off the things of this world in preparation for eternity.
